In a surprising turn of events, a running back who was recently trying to assist the WVU football program recruit has now flipped his commitment away from West Virginia.

Top 2026 prospect Jett Walker is headed to Minnesota and the Big Ten instead of WVU in the Big 12. Walker confirmed a Rivals report on Monday night.

Rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals, Walker attends Georgetown High School in Georgetown, Texas.

Walker, who has almost 20 Division I offers, received an offer from Rich Rodriguezโ€™s WVU staff in early February. He then committed in April.

Bowling Green, Charlotte, Marshall, Navy, New Mexico State, Ohio, Rice, San Diego State, Tulsa, UNLV, UTEP and UTSA were just some of the other schools who were pursuing Walker.
