3-Star OL Signs with WVU Football

West Virginia’s 2024 class just received a signing from offensive lineman Lucas Austin, who committed to the program over the weekend.

Austin, who is listed at 6-foot-7 and 265 pounds, will be a member of West Virginia’s 2024 recruiting class. He is a third-team All-State product out of Sterling High School in Sterling, Illinois. Austin’s commitment comes days after taking an official visit to West Virginia on Dec. 11.

Austin fits the versatility WVU offensive line coach Matt Moore likes in his linemen. He has experience at both tackle positions, guard, and even at tight end. He’s rated among the top 40 prospects in his state. Austin also played basketball in high school.

In addition to the Mountaineers, Austin was weighing offers from Air Force, Army, Columbia, Dartmouth, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Miami (OH), Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Northwestern, Southern Illinois, and a few others.
