Andre Devine Coming Aboard to Join Dad at WVU
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – To no surprise, Andre Devine is following his dad to West Virginia. Noel Devine’s son, who spent 2024 at Jacksonville State under Rich Rodriguez, is expected to move to West Virginia to learn from Rodriguez again at WVU.
With his addition assumed for months, Rodriguez brought it up publicly for the first time a little over a week into fall camp on Thursday.
WVU HC Rich Rodriguez reveals Andre Devine is joining the team. This has been assumed for months (I've had the story in drafts all offseason), especially after his dad became part of the coaching staff, but this is the first time it's been brought up publicly by WVU.

This also comes after WVU hired Noel Devine to serve as an offensive analyst on Rodriguez’s staff early in the offseason, news reported first by WV Sports Now.
Andre, a product of North Ft. Meyers High School, did not see any playing time for the Gamecocks in 2024.

When WVU failed to sign Andre on National Signing Day in December of 2023, the WVU Sports Hall of Famer unleashed on the old staff. But once his son landed with Rodriguez, Noel sounded satisfied with how everything turned out at that time.
โProud moment yesterday seeing my son Andre sign to JSU! Thank you Coach Rod and your coaching staff for welcoming my son with open arms. This means a lot to me and my family my son found a home. The Devine legacy continues with the same culture and traditions Rich Rod taught me,โ Noel Devine said on X (Twitter) after Andre signed with Jacksonville State in February of 2024.
As a high school recruit, Andre Devine also held offers from FAU, USF and even the other Division I West Virginia based school in Marshall.
