BREAKING: Memphis Grizzlies trade Jevon Carter

on

Just minutes ago, former West Virginia guard Jevon Carter was traded from the Memphis Grizzlies to the Phoenix Suns, according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Grizzlies also included Kyle Korver in the deal to the Suns and received DeAnthony Melton, Josh Jackson and two future draft picks in return.

Carter was selected in the 2nd round by the Grizzlies in the 2018 NBA Draft and averaged 4.4 points, 1.8 assists and 0.7 steals per game in 39 games during his rookie season. During his rookie campaign, he floated back and forth from the Memphis Hustle (G-League) and the Grizzlies.

With veteran Mike Conley being the Grizzlies starter last year, it did not give Carter a clear path to more minutes although he was impressive. Memphis has since let Conley go, but drafted Ja Morant with the 2nd overall pick in this years draft as his replacement.
