Fields suffered an ankle injury during the Browns’ season opening loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. He immediately went into the medical tent after being injured on a 1st and 10 play with 13:15 remaining in the fourth quarter. Fields tackled Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott on a three-yard rush on the play. Dallas would end up kicking a field goal on that drive and win the game
Fields, who is in the midst of his fourth NFL season, recorded 34 total tackles and forced a fumble in 2023. After finishing his college career at West Virginia, which included being selected to an All-Big 12 team, he was drafted by the Cleveland in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Fields’ best NFL season came in 2022 when he made 48 total tackles, picked off a pass and scored a touchdown.
Back in July, Fields helped teach his teammates the words to “Take Me Home, Country Roads” as they practiced at the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. for training camp.
