Colorado Bans Long Tenured Reporter from Asking Deion Sanders Questions
Deion Sanders became a legend as a player by shutting down wide receivers, but he’s now shutting down reporters as a coach. On Friday, Colorado informed the Denver Post that Sanders will no longer be taking questions from long tenured columnist Sean Keeler.
The Colorado athletic department provided an explanation in a statement further to the Denver Post.
“After a series of sustained, personal attacks on the football program and specifically Coach Prime, the CU Athletic Department in conjunction with the football program, have decided not to take questions from Denver Post columnist Sean Keeler at football-related events,” read the statement.

In response, the Denver Post asked Colorado for exact examples of Keeler’s alleged personal attacks towards Sanders.
A Colorado sports information staffer then cited his use of phrases like “false prophet,” “Deposition Deion,” “Planet Prime,” “Bruce Lee of B.S.,” “the Deion Kool-Aid” and “circus.”
Colorado also added that the program’s decision to refuse questions from Keeler can be classified as “indefinite,” although other Denver Post reporters are still welcome at press conferences and to ask questions.
Sanders’ attempt at improving his 4-8 debut season at Colorado in 2023 will now take place free of any back and forth with Keeler.
But regardless which reporters are allowed to ask Sanders questions, the Buffaloes will kick off the 2024 season on Aug. 29 when Colorado hosts North Dakota State at 8 pm ET. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
