Fans React to QB-Filled Backyard Brawl Comeback Win
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – WVU Football fans saw a quarterback carrousel in the Backyard Brawl, as three different players received snaps under center. The Mountaineers overcame a 10-point fourth quarter deficit to win 31-24 in overtime.
The game started with redshirt senior quarterback Nicco Marchiol before freshman Scotty Fox started the second half. After Fox threw two interceptions, redshirt senior Jaylen Henderson came in late in the third quarter before Marchiol re-entered the game in the fourth.
Marchiol led the team to a field goal in his first drive back and then threw the game-tying touchdown to send the matchup to overtime.
