Former West Virginia relief pitcher Jackson Sigman has signed a deal with the Kansas City Royals.

Sigman finished his senior season earlier this year with the Mountaineers. He closed out his career with a record of 6-5 and a 3.83 ERA. On June 18th, Sigman signed with the Gateway Grizzlies, a member of the Frontier League. He performed well for the Grizzlies, pitching in 27.1 innings and earning 31 strikeouts.

Sigman will be one of several WVU players to join the major league ranks this year, and continues Coach Randy Mazey’s success at puting Mountaineers in the pros.
