Just minutes before tip off against Iowa State, West Virginia basketball announced that Kobe Johnson will be starting on Wednesday night. The freshman replaces Kedrian “Keddy” Johnson in the lineup.

“I’m going to go back and look at the game and the guys who didn’t give us what we expect are going to sit their butt on the bench,” Huggins said after the TCU game. “They open their mouth on the bench, I’m going to send them home.”

Huggins has mentioned this for the last couple of weeks that he will play the players that want to give it their all. The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame finalist has wanted to play the freshmen more as of late.

Kobe Johnson is averaging 1.5 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 26 games. The Ohio native will make his fourth start for the Mountaineers.
