It’s official. Miami transfer linebacker Tirek-Austin Cave has signed a grant-in-aid and will head to West Virginia.

Austin-Cave (6-foot-1, 225 pounds) has spent two seasons at Miami, appearing in 17 games over that span. The Pennsauken, NJ, native recorded five total tackles this past season.

Austin-Cave will join a linebacker core that is in need of depth. Currently, the team notably has Lance Dixon, Exree Loe, Lee Kpogba and others set to play linebacker this season for the Mountaineers.

As a recruit in high school, Austin-Cave was ranked as a three-star prospect. In Austin-Cave’s senior season, he recorded 148 tackles, 11 sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles. Austin-Cave was listed as the No. 16 player in New Jersey, according to Rivals.

Austin-Cave will have three years of eligibility remaining.
