Ohio LB Signs with West Virginia Football

WVU Football LB commit Rickey Williams

West Virginia football continues to roll in signees during National Signing Day with 2024 LB Rickey Williams out of Ohio. Williams currently attends Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, Ohio.

Williams (6-foot-2, 230 pounds) is regarded as a three-star player by most outlets. Williams committed to West Virginia after taking his official visit on June 9th. He initially received an offer in January.

During the 2022 season, Williams recorded 134 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and 10 sacks on a team that reoriented Ohio in the state championship game.

Williams picked the Mountaineers over offers from Akron, Buffalo, JMU, Miami (OH), Ohio and Toledo. Cincinnati, Kentucky and Purdue also showed interest but never sent an actual offer.
