Pat McAfee Picks WVU as His ‘Super Dog’ of the Week
Leave it to Pat McAfee to pick his Mountaineers no matter what. Even with WVU viewed a massive underdog in their matchup with Kansas, McAfee is confident West Virginia can prove people wrong again.
In fact, McAfee picked WVU as his “Super Dog” of the week during Saturday morning’s College GameDay show.
“I wasn’t allowed to pick them last week in the Backyard Brawl, but I’ll take West Virginia this week, getting 13.5 in Kansas,” said McAfee. “You know, Rich Rodriguez was on the phone earlier this week, and he said, ‘Are we two touchdown underdogs? Oh, well, maybe we’ll try to get a first down. The boys are going to fight.”
Both DraftKings and FanDuel have Kansas as a big favorite. Most major sportsbooks have increased the Jayhawks’ advantage by at least one full point since the start of week.
A driving force of Kansas being so heavily favored has to be that the game is being played in Lawrence. Otherwise, Kansas has yet to prove much more than WVU so far this season.
Through three games, the Jayhawks share WVU’s 2-1 record at the start of Big 12 play. West Virginia has wins over Robert Morris and Pitt and a loss at Ohio.
Kansas, coming off a bye following their loss to Missouri, their out of conference rival, has wins over Fresno State and Wagner.
Remember, WVU entered their rivalry game against Pitt as a heavy underdog, but ended up beating the Panthers 31-24in overtime.
West Virginia and Kansas will air nationally on FS1 and kickoff from Lawrence at 6 pm ET.
