Whenever a program is struggling, there’s often more than one person to blame. That’s really true in any situation, company or organization too. But when it comes to the state of the West Virginia football program, many fans seem interested in throwing most of the blame one way more than the other.

Mountaineer Nation has been busy debating the future of their beloved football team all season. As the team sits at 2-3 (0-2), the conversation has picked up. Most focus on head coach Neal Brown, arguing that a coach in his 4th year on the job shouldn’t have his team declining each season. Others lean more to bring up that it’s athletic director Shane Lyons who granted Brown a contract extension that includes the $16.7 million buyout, which may play a role in any decision about his future.
