Reese Smith, Tony Fields Listed as Starters on WVU’s Game 2 Depth Chart

Published

on

There were a few changes made to the West Virginia football two-deep depth chart this week ahead of the team’s Big 12 opener vs. Oklahoma State Saturday.

Of note, true freshman Reese Smith is listed ahead of senior T.J. Simmons at slot receiver and grad transfer Tony Fields II is ahead of senior Dylan Tonkery at mike linebacker.

Simmons did not play in WVU’s season-opener against Eastern Kentucky as he and 10 other student-athletes were serving one-game team suspensions for violating team rules. In his absence, Smith made four receptions for 32 yards in his college debut. Fields led WVU’s defense with 10 tackles while Tonkery did not record a stat.
