2024 four-star Darrion Sutton will postpone and reschedule his official visit to West Virginia, On3 Sports’ Joe Tipton reported on Thursday. Sutton was set to arrive at WVU starting on Thursday night, a source told WV Sports Now earlier in the week.

Sutton, a 6-foot-7 prospect who currently plays for Overtime Elite, postponed due to a scheduling conflict.

Sutton is currently No. 82 in the country, according to 247 Sports. Sutton, an original native of Missouri, has received offers from Akron, Butler, Cincinnati, Creighton, DePaul, Florida State, Fresno State, Georgia Tech, Illinois, UIC, Indiana State, Iowa, Louisiana Tech, Maryland, Miami (OH), Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ohio, Ohio State, Old Dominion, Ole Miss, Penn State, Rutgers, San Jose State, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Tennessee State, Toledo, Towson, UT-Arlington, Valparaiso, Virginia Tech, Wyoming and others. Sutton has most recently visited Georgia Tech, Michigan and Missouri.

Sutton averaged 14.6 points and 10.7 rebounds for Gateway City Elite during the 2021-22 season. Sutton reclassified to 2024 and joined the Overtime Elite roster while maintaining his college eligibility.

West Virginia’s staff recently officially hosted Naas Cunningham (2024 F) and Jasper Johnson (2025 G) over the past two weeks and Chance Mallory (2025 G) unofficially visited West Virginia as well. WVU’s staff, who have recruited the transfer portal well over the past two years, are trying to dip into high school recruiting and land a top prospect.
