West Virginia men’s basketball will host the Kent State Golden Flashes for a non-conference matchup for the 2021-22 college basketball season, according to Jon Rothstein of CBSSports.

KSU went 15-8 last season, 12-6 in MAC play. The Golden Flashes went through a stretch where they won eight of 11 games to finish the regular season before falling to eventual conference champion Ohio in the first round of the Mid-American Conference tournament.

Kent State’s leading scorer and rebounder last season was senior forward Danny Pippen, who averaged 19.3 points and 8.7 rebounds in 20 games.

West Virginia has played Kent State twice in program history, winning 65-54 in 2004 and losing 70-60 in 2011. The game is currently scheduled for Dec. 12, according to Rothstein.
