Three More WVU Players Accept NFL Rookie Camp Invites
Sunday closed with a few more WVU players earning rookie mini-camp invites with NFL teams.
Defensive lineman Eddie Vesterinen accepted an offer from the Minnesota Vikings.
The 6-foot-3 Finland native spent five years in West Virginia, including a redshirt season due to injury. He recorded 30 tackles under Rich Rodriguez in 2025 after playing for Neal Brown up until that point. Vesterinen finished his college career with 77 total tackles and 6.5 sacks.
Linebacker Chase Wilson will be part of the New York Jets’ camp.
Wilson, listed at 6-foot-1 and 230 pounds, who transferred to WVU from Colorado State ahead of the 2025 season to cap off his college career as a Mountaineer, made 46 tackles, posted three sacks and picked off two passes. Overall, he registered 280 tackles and nine sacks in four years.
Wide receiver Jeff Weimer will try to impress the Kansas City Chiefs.
Weimer caught 21 passes for 383 yards and two touchdowns during the 2025 season. Before his lone season at WVU, Weimer spent time at Idaho State and UNLV. He ended his college career with 122 receptions for 1,677 yards and nine scores.
In other WVU to the NFL news, defensive back Michael Coats Jr. signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns and linebacker Reid Carrico will also be at Browns camp after accepting a camp invite.
