Top defensive line target intends to make trip to Morgantown

Earlier this month 2019 defensive line recruit, Cavon Butler (6’3″ 265 lbs) out of Whitmer High School in Toledo, Ohio received an offer from the Mountaineers coaching staff.  Butler also holds offers from Pittsburgh, Toledo, Ohio, Youngstown St, Kent State, UMass and Cincinnati.

“They are a very good football team and they bleed football.” Butler said of West Virginia. “Coach Gerberry is chill, we have a good relationship, he’s just a good dude honestly.”

Butler is a guy that has tremendous upside and has a lot of room to grow as a pass rusher, but has raw talent. He has great low leverage and gets lineman back on their heels within 2-3 steps. “They didn’t specify what position they want me at, but some schools like me as a tackle and some want me lined up as a defensive end.” Butler said.

Butler is intending to take a visit to West Virginia, but a date is yet to be determined. He plans on making his decision on signing day in February.
