The NCAA denied West Virginia guard Jose Perez’s waiver on Friday night, making him ineligible to play for the Mountaineers this season. As expected, WVU fans were not pleased with the decision as they started the “Free Jose” movement but even national media questioned the NCAA’s decision.

Manhattan transfer Jose Perez has been denied the ability by NCAA to play at West Virginia at all this season, source told @Stadium.
Utterly ridiculous.
Manhattan coach Steve Masiello was fired just days before the start of the season.
Perez has not played a game this season.

Jose Perez's coach was fired less than two weeks before the season. What was he supposed to do? Absolutely ridiculous that the NCAA claims to give players power in this new era. This waiver was one of the ones that made sense to clear.
