The West Virginia baseball added transfer Grant Siegel from Tulane, the reliever announced on Twitter yesterday. “I am extremely thankful this opportunity. I will be transferring to WVU,” he said in his tweet.

Siegel will be a sophomore in 2023 with three years of eligibility remaining. He hails from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He threw 59 2/3 innings last year with an era of 3.02. He had a strikeout to walk ratio of 53:13. He was named to All-AAC Second Team at the end of the season.

Siegel joins the team after they had lost two players of their own to the transfer portal earlier this month. Pitchers Zach Ottinger and Deaton Oak entered the transfer portal earlier this month. The deadline to enter the portal is July 1.

The West Virginia baseball team is coming off a great season in which they finished 33-22 overall with a 14-10 Big 12 record, but weren’t selected for the NCAA tournament.
