on

The West Virginia University baseball team will hold walk-on tryouts for the 2023 season on Thursday, Sept. 8, for students interested in joining the program.

The tryout will begin at 5 p.m. at Wagener Field at Monongalia County Ballpark.

Students must wear appropriate athletic gear in order to participate and must be enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credits each semester) at West Virginia while having remaining NCAA eligibility.

All prospective players must also have a West Virginia compliance form, proof of insurance, a completed physical form (from within the last six months), proof of full-time enrollment at West Virginia (course schedule showing total number of credits) and proof of a sickle cell test.

The five items must be turned into the compliance office located inside the WVU Coliseum by 12 p.m. on Sept. 7.

If any of the items are missing or are not completed prior to the tryout, the student will not be permitted to participate. There will be no exceptions for students to tryout without prior submission of all required paperwork.

For questions, contact Jordan Blizzard at at Jordan.Blizzard@mail.wvu.edu or the WVU compliance office at 304-293-2879.
