West Virginia has missed 56 free throws in their last five games, which is the most in Division-I basketball in that span. As a team, the Mountaineers are shooting 60 percent from the line in that stretch.

Opponent / WVU’s Missed FTs / Loss Margin:

KANSAS STATE / 18 / -6

OKLAHOMA STATE / 11 / -7

KANSAS / 10 / -14

BAYLOR / 9 / -5

OKLAHOMA / 8 / -1

West Virginia has had a loss margin of -33 while missing 56 free throws. Mountaineers just make around half of their misses, they’re looking at two or three wins in the Big 12. You can play the hypotheticals but the fact is WVU is 0-5 in conference play.

WVU is shooting 69 percent from the free throw line for the season, which ranks 243rd in the country. Emmitt Matthews leads the team in free-throw percentage hitting 86 percent of his shots. Kedrian Johnson (83%) and Tre Mitchell (78%) trail right behind Matthews.

Mountaineers will look to end their five-game losing streak as they host a ranked TCU team on Wednesday.
