West Virginia to Host 2022 4-Star QB, Florida St. Commit Nicco Marchiol on Official Visit

A verbal commitment from a high school athlete isn’t binding until he officially signs with a school. Now, with the recruiting landscape finally opening up, the West Virginia football staff is hoping to persuade a talented 2022 recruit to change his original decision.

2022 4-star quarterback Nicco Marchiol (6’3″, 230) has already given a verbal commitment to Florida State but plans on coming to Morgantown for an official visit. The native of Chandler, Arizona has scheduled an official visit with West Virginia from June 10-13. This comes on the heels of receiving an offer from the West Virginia staff four days ago. Marchiol is also scheduled to take an official visit to Michigan State sometime in June.

Prior to committing to the Seminoles back on January 31, Marchiol held more than 25 offers, including ones from programs like Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Penn State and USC.

West Virginia Sports Now is hoping to have more on this story as we attempt to talk with Marchiol about his decision to come visit West Virginia.
