WVU Baseball Tramples Herd Again to Take Season Series Over Marshall
WVU Baseball put the hurt on Marshall on Wednesday, drubbing the Thundering Herd 15-0 to claim the season series.
The Mountaineers jumped on Marshall early, scoring five runs in the first inning—including back to back home runs from Kyle West and Reed Chumley.
Aaron Jamison and Sam White continued the homer barrage in the third inning, each accounting for two-run blasts, while Chumley added his second long ball of the day in the fourth.
Gavin Van Kempen got the win, opening the game with three scoreless innings before the lopsided score gave head coach Randy Mazey a chance to stretch out his bullpen arms.

This win follows West Virginia’s 11-2 trampling of the Herd in Charleston last week and is West Virginia’s 8th straight over Marshall.
Mazey’s WVU baseball team is now 12-9 (2-1, Big 12) on the season.
