WVU Basketball G Honor Huff Earns Big 12 Starting 5 Spot
WVU basketball senior guard Honor Huff was named to the weekly Big 12 starting lineup Monday, per a release by the conference.
Huff was nominated alongside Arizona Brayden Burries, BYU AJ Dybantsa, Kansas Melvin Council Jr. and Texas Tech JT Toppin.
Huff is coming off an impressive stretch of three games scoring 24 points. The two games that made him eligible for the award are WVU’s Routing of Little Rock on Dec. 9 and a double overtime loss to Ohio State on Dec. 13.
So far this season, Huff is the Mountaineers’ leading scorer with 17.8 points per game while shooting 41.9% from three-point range. Huff currently leads the nation in three-pointers made after finishing last season on top in that category as well.
Last season as a junior for Chattanooga, Huff averaged 15.2 points per game. His season-high in points came against VMI when he tallied 31 points while shooting 9-10 from three-point range. He also averaged 2.3 assists per game while hauling in 1.8 rebounds per game.
WVU basketball will take the court again at 7 p.m. Dec. 22 when it hosts Mississippi Valley State at the Hope Coliseum.
