WVU Basketball Reveals Jerry West Throwback Uniforms

WVU basketball will wear throwback uniforms inspired by those worn by legendary Mountaineers Jerry West in the 1950s for its game Saturday against Iowa State.

The jerseys, modeled by current Mountaineers Amani Hansberry, Sencire Harris and Tony Okani, are a lighter shade of blue than the University currently uses with gold and white trim around the top and shorts. On the front, “West Virginia” is intersected by the player’s number and there are no last names on the back.

The entire game against the Cyclones will be used to honor West’s legacy as the University has dubbed Saturday “Jerry West Day” in the WVU Coliseum. Members. Fans at the sold-out game will receive a commemorative Jerry West pennant and there will be throwback merchandise available for purchase.
