In an effort to keep up with the recent trend, the WVU basketball program is pursuing bringing in a player with professional experience.

As former G-League forward Kok Yat is considering taking his talents to college basketball, West Virginia is among several prominent schools like Louisville and Xavier are interested in the 22-year-old, per a report from Joe Tipton of On3Sports.

The 6-foot-8 Yat played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBAโ€™s Summer League before getting drafted by the Iowa Wolves in the first round of the 2023 G-League Draft.

He played in 39 games for Iowa before being released in February of 2024. He then signed with the Texas Legends, an affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks, and played in 26 games during the 2024-25 season.

Before embarking on his professional career, Yat was a three-star recruit out of high school in Georgia. Yat, a member of the 2021 class, had offers from programs like Auburn, Georgia Tech and Kansas.
