With the spring session now over and the time remaining in this transfer window dwindling, cornerback Montre Miller has decided to enter transfer portal.

Miller will now exit the West Virginia program a year after transferring to WVU from Kent State. Despite high hopes, Miller’s season as a Mountaineer was never able to amount to anything. Miller played in only one game, recording three tackles.

โ€œHeโ€™s not going to play this week. Really, the ball is kind of in his court,โ€ said Brown about Millerโ€™s situation before a game in September.

Before arriving in Morgantown, Miller was a member of the Golden Flashes program for five years, taking a redshirt in his true freshman season and also drawing another campaign from the impact of COVID-19.

The 5-foot-10, 179 pound South Carolina native recorded 52 tackles, 40 solo, in 2022, while also tallying two interceptions, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and eight pass breakups.

Miller played sparingly for his first two seasons with Kent State before earning the starting cornerback spot as a junior. He totaled 99 tackles, 79 solo and six interceptions over his final two years at Kent State.
