WVU Football Lands Commitment from North Carolina Transfer LB Ashton Woods
On Sunday evening, the WVU football program landed another transfer commitment. North Carolina transfer linebacker Ashton Woods announced his intentions on social media to provide the Mountaineers with their biggest addition of the day.
Woods, a Marietta, Ga. product, was a four-star recruit out of high school in 2024.

He ended up picking UNC over offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Boston College, Georgia Tech Kansas State, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Mississippi State, NC State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Pitt, Tennessee, UCF, USC, Virginia, Wake Forest and many others.
Woods appeared in six games, seeing time on special teams and defense. Woods will now have a big opportunity at West Virginia based on the departures of star players like Josiah Trotter.
Woods will have three years remaining of eligibility.
