WVU Football QB recruit Landon Duckworth

The WVU football program continues its trend of looking for dual-threat quarterbacks by sending an offer to a four-star prospect out of Alabama.

Landon Duckworth (6-foot-3, 195 pounds), one of the top rated quarterbacks in the 2026 class who attends Jackson High School in Jackson, AL, revealed his offer from West Virginia on Monday morning. This offer came the same day the Mountaineers promoted Tyler Allen to be their new quarterbacks coach after the departure of Sean Reagan.

Duckworth even included a picture of WVU legend Pat White on his post about his West Virginia offer.

WVU now becomes Duckworth’s 14th offer, mostly from major programs and big brand names. Despite two more high school seasons remaining, Duckworth has already earned two four-star ratings from major recruiting outlets.

Both 247 Sports and Rivals have Duckworth ranked among the best 100 players nationally in his class. To be exact, 247 Sports has Duckworth as the No. 4 quarterback and No. 3 prospect from Alabama. He also plays basketball in high school.

Duckworth has committed to South Carolina, but he has offers on the table from programs like Arkansas, Florida, Ole Miss, Nebraska, TCU, Texas A&M and UCF and many others.
