WVU Football Pursuing 2026 3-Star Virginia DB

In looking at the future of the WVU football program, West Virginia sent an offer to a three-star defensive back. Class of 2026 prospect Chase Geter announced his West Virginia offer on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday afternoon.

Listed at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, Geter attends Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, Va. He’s been awarded three stars by both 247 Sports and Rivals, falling within the top 20 players in Virginia on both outlet’s rankings.

Geter’s most recent offer prior to WVU was from the Penn State on Sept. 13. He also has offers from schools like Charlotte, Connecticut, Duke, East Carolina, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Syracuse, Virginia and Wake Forest.

Class of 2026 back Najee Calhoun out of Toms River, N.J. posted about his WVU offerย  on Sept. 16. Calhoun said WVU offensive coordinator Chad Scott called him with the news of the offer.

Listed at 5-foot-10, 190 pounds, Calhoun has five Division I offers as a product of Donovan Catholic High School. Heโ€™s been awarded a three stars by both On3 Sports and 247 Sports while also being ranked among the top 20 New Jersey players and top 50 2026 running backs nationally.

Calhounโ€™s WVU offer came two days after receiving one from the other Division I program in West Virginia, Marshall. In addition to the two West Virginia schools, Calhoun also has offers from Boston College, JMU, Duke and Pitt.

Heโ€™s also garnered interest from the likes of North Carolina, Rutgers and Temple and has visited Maryland and Penn State as well.
