WVU Offers 2018 Athlete

This past Saturday the Mountaineers offered talented 2018 Safety Jeremiah Salaam. The 2018 recruit hails from Frostproof High School in Frostproof, FL. Salaam is a multi-sport athlete as he plays both Basketball and Football, while Football is the sport he excels at the most.

Sunday afternoon I got the chance to speak with Salaam briefly to get his thoughts on the WVU offer. For him the offer came as somewhat of a surprise.

“My first initial thoughts were excitement because I don’t know much about West Virginia, but they had the interest enough in me to go out of the way and offer me.”

For Salaam change is not a big deal as I asked him how he would fit into the WVU Defensive system. He says, ” It’ll be a adjustment but I think I’ll fit right in their scheme.” When asked what the biggest factors are in terms of his final decision, Salaam had this to say:

“The biggest factors in my decision will be my mother and how I feel on the official visit, because I want to feel at home.”

With National Signing Day quickly approaching it may be hard to get a strong enough connection to get a commitment. Currently Salaam has offers from 35 schools, while only two official visits scheduled.
