WVU Offers Texas Tech Transfer DL Philip Blidi

Since the NCAA Transfer Portal opened, Neal Brown has been showing a quick trigger when making offers to prospective players, as another player was added to the list with Texas Tech’s Philip Blidi.
Blidi announced via his twitter account on Wednesday evening he had officially received an offer from the Mountaineers, just over three hours after another post showed that he had entered the transfer portal.

The Mountaineers, according to Blidi’s twitter account, were the first team to extend an offer to the 6-foot-3, 295-pound defensive tackle.
Blidi, a junior, enters the portal with two years of eligibility remaining. As of Wednesday, Blidi is not on the current Texas Tech roster, meaning he will likely not be playing with the Red Raiders in the TaxAct Texas Bowl against Mississippi on Dec. 28.

In his three years at Texas Tech, Blidi totaled 40 tackles, 25 solo, and added 2.5 sacks. Blidi has appeared in just six games for the Red Raiders this season, compiling 18 tackles and two sacks.
Blidi did not play in Texas Tech’s Week 7 matchup against West Virginia on Oct. 22, a game the Red Raiders dominated with a 48-10 victory.
