WVU OL Coach Jack Bicknell Knows All About the ‘Hard Edge’ Mentality
WVU offensive line coach Jack Bicknell Jr. knows all about what it means to be “hard edge” and he’s also well aware he coaches the most important position on a Rich Rodriguez offense.
“We have to be an example of hard edge for the rest of the team. That means we’re going to be playing hard,” said Bicknell in a video posted by the West Virginia program on Thursday.

Bicknell, who was announced as WVU’s new offensive line coach in early January, is one of the most experienced coach on the staff. Bicknell’s connection to Rodriguez comes from their time at Ole Miss together in 2019.
“Coach Rodriguez is one of the best coaches in the country. I had the pleasure of working with him at Ole Miss in 2019. Really enjoyed working with him. Just an unbelievable offensive mind,” said Bicknell about his new boss.
Most recently having served as the offensive line coach for Luke Fickell’s Wisconsin Badgers, Bicknell has been a head coach at Louisiana Tech and also coached at Auburn, Boston College, Louisville, Ole Miss and North Carolina at the Power Four level.
Bicknell has also spent time in the NFL with the New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins.
