West Virginia redshirt-senior wide receiver Keion Wakefield has entered into the transfer portal, WVU Athletics has confirmed to WVSN. Chris Anderson of EerSports first reported.

Wakefield came to WVU as a graduate transfer walk-on from Louisville in January.

Wakefield redshirted in 2017 and played sparingly the following two seasons. In 14 games across the 2018 and 2019 seasons Wakefield, 5-foot-10 184 pounds, made seven receptions for 80 yards. He also returned two kickoffs for 44 yards.

WVU head coach Neal Brown said during training camp that Wakefield could be in the mix for playing time at inside receiver. He did not dress for WVU’s season opener against Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 12.
