Just minutes after West Virginia CB Daryl Porter Jr. entered his name into the transfer portal, so did T’Rek Scipio. Scipio becomes the second cornerback at WVU to enter the transfer portal on Wednesday morning.

Scipio made the announcement on Twitter.

“After a long talk with my family I have decided to officially enter the transfer portal,” Scipio wrote. “I would like to thank Coach [Dontae] Wright for brining me up here and giving me an opportunity to play at this level. Also I would like to thank Coach Mike [Joseph] and his staff also for pushing to be my best everyday, but I feel it’s best if I open my recruitment back up with 4 years of eligibility remaining. Looking forward to get back out there doing what I love to do.”

Scipio is a redshirt freshman from Morgantown. The 5-foot-11 athlete played at Morgantown High School before committing to stay home and play for the Mountaineers. Scipio redshirted his first and only season at West Virginia.
