The WVU football program is moving closer to landing another offensive line recruit from a familiar school. Eidan Buchanan (6-foot-8, 325 pounds), a three-star 2025 prospect, showed West Virginia as one of his top schools on Tuesday.

This comes a few weeks after the Good Counsel High School product out of Only, Md. revealed he has an official visit booked with WVU. Buchanan is also considering Maryland, Kentucky, Rutgers and Wisconsin. These schools beat out the likes of JMU, Pitt and Syracuse.

Viewed as an offensive tackle by recruiting outlets, Buchanan holds a three-star rating from Rivals, 247 Sports and On3.com. Buchanan’s most favorable ranking comes from 247 Sports, placing him as the No. 23 prospect in Maryland.

WVU is simultaneously recruiting both Buchanan and his high school teammate Gavin Crawford, trying to further a pipeline from Good Counsel.

Aside from Good Counsel being a solid program itself, it’s also the home of one of West Virginia’s top 2024 signees. Landing Kyle Altuner has opened up the opportunity for a recruiting pipeline to Good Counsel and its revolving door of prospects, especially on the offensive line.

Crawford has also already placed WVU among his top five schools.
