2025 DL Evan Powell Becomes First Recruit to Withdraw WVU Football Commitment
In light of West Virginia deciding to fire Neal Brown, a defensive line recruit instantly decided to withdraw his commitment to the WVU football program.
Evan Powell, a 6-foot-4, 245-pound prospect out of Maryland, posted a message with his decision soon after the announcement on Sunday evening. He committed in June.

Powell also excels in multiple events for his schoolโs track team.
In addition to the Mountaineers, an offer that didnโt come until April of this year, Powell has offers from Buffalo, JMU, Kent State, Marshall, Memphis and Old Dominion. He even has offers to consider from both Army and Navy. The Marshall and Memphis offers are the most recent from that group.
