Big 12 Announces Temporary Athletics Suspension

The Big 12 Conference has announced that all regular-season competition, recruiting and practices will be suspended until March 29 due to spread of the novel coronavirus COVID-19.

Earlier today the conference announced the cancelation of the men’s and women’s Big 12 basketball tournaments.

Following that West Virginia University announced it will be suspending intercollegiate athletics until March 22.

These suspensions will impact WVU’s baseball, gymnastics, tennis, track and golf teams.

WVU baseball was scheduled to play three-game series against No. 2 Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas this weekend and against Kansas from March 20-22. the team will now also miss a game against Marshall on March 25 and a series against George Mason on March 27-29.
