MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – WVU Football’s Sam Brown is leaving Morgantown.

The redshirt freshman wide receiver saw time in seven games during the 2020 season and put up eight catches for 92 yards. This came after de-committing from UCF and opting for head coach Neal Brown’s Mountaineer program late in the recruiting process.
When he returned this season, his stat sheet showed a different result. He’s only charted two receptions for 16 yards thus far, all in the same game: the 66-0 Long Island win in Week 2. Firmly seeded as a third-string wide out behind both a freshly-injured Isaiah Esdale and Sean Ryan, Brown is seeking greener pastures away from West Virginia University. He’ll have three more seasons of eligibility to utilize elsewhere.
