Stormtrooper Uniforms Make A Resurgence for West Virginia in the Little Apple

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Stormtrooper uniform combination is being deployed for this week’s WVU-Kansas State matchup in Manhattan, Ks. This game marks only the 11th showing of the all-white uniform, and it’s for good reason.

In the full white jerseys, sans white helmet, WVU Football is 23-20. The last time Mountaineer fans saw the white out jersey combination was earlier this season. The team traveled to Waco to take on the Baylor Bears, a game which dealt the uniform configuration its 20th loss.

In adding the white helmets, the history of this full whites combination sits at 3-7. Although it has proven to be a fan favorite, the combination’s record adds cause for speculation regarding its place in the rotation. WVU has sported this combination only once during the Brown era: a 2019 20-17 win over the TCU Horned Frogs in Fort Worth. The full uniform was also worn the previous season, but it earned a 30-14 loss to Iowa State. Head coach Brown is hoping for a different outcome on Saturday, when the 4-5 Mountaineer football team marches into Bill Snyder Family Stadium and faces a 6-3 K-State Wildcat team currently on a three-game win streak.

This conference rivalry will kickoff at 12 p.m. EST on FS1.
