WVU Football TE Gregory Genross

All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2025 WVU Football Roster.

Greg Genross transferred to WVU Football ahead of the 2024 season after earning a First Team All-American nod at the junior college level.

At 6-foot-6 and 230 pounds, Genross has the frame of a matchup nightmare tight end, but he didnโ€™t take a single snap during his first season with the Mountaineers. Instead Genross took a redshirt year, helping West Virginia prepare for their opponents as a member of the scout team.

After spending the first three years of his college career at the JUCO level, Genross could have as many as four years of eligibility remaining, but the Mountaineersโ€™ roster lists him as a redshirt senior, suggesting that heโ€™ll hang up his cleats upon finishing his degree.

Last year: Transferring from Dodge City Community College, Genross didnโ€™t play in a game for the Mountaineers in 2024. However, he did earn recognition for his service on the scout team ahead of WVU Footballโ€™s matchup with Albany.

Stats: N/A

Camp outlook: Genrossโ€™ frame and success at the JUCO level makes him an intriguing x-factor for WVU Football, but the fact that he didnโ€™t make it on the field at all in 2024 doesnโ€™t bode well for a breakout season.

Projected role:ย If this does turn out as Greg Genrossโ€™ last season in college, expect him to see some snaps (and targets) as a reserve in lopsided contests.

Accolades, highlights: Genross earned NJCAA Division I All-American First Team honors in 2023, prompting his transfer to Power Four.
