CBB Analyst Andy Katz Ranks Tucker DeVries as Top Transfer

West Virginia forward Tucker DeVries was 1-of-12 transfers highlighted by college basketball analyst Andy Katz. DeVries, who follows his dad Darian from Drake, has one year of eligibility with the Mountaineers.

Katz’s Top Transfers:

1. Coleman Hawkins (F) – Kansas State

2. Johnell Davis (G) – Arkansas

3. Oumar Ballo (C) – Indiana

4. AJ Storr (G) – Kansas

5. Cliff Omoruyi (C) – Alabama

6. Kadary Richmond (G) – St. John’s

7. Great Osobor (F) – Washington

8. Robbie Avila (C) – Saint Louis

9. Aidan Mahaney (G) – UConn

10. JT Toppin (F) – Texas Tech

11. Norchad Omier (F) – Baylor

12. Tucker DeVries (G/F) – West Virginia

DeVries (6-foot-7) averaged 21.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists for the Bulldogs this past season. DeVries shot 44% from the field, 36% from three and 81% from the free throw line. DeVries is the reigning back-to-back Missouri Valley Player of the Year and is highly ranked amongst the 1,000 transfers to enter the portal thus far.

DeVries has one year of eligibility remaining and decided to join his dad at West Virginia.

“[My dad] certainly felt like this is a place he can be successful and excited to be a part of. And we were all in full support of that. For me to be able to come here my senior year, I’m really looking forward to it,” Tucker said in March.
