Class AAA Girls Basketball State Tournament Field, Schedule Set

Class AAA regional co-champions were crowned in West Virginia on Tuesday to set the field for next week’s state tournament at the Charleston Coliseum. The West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission announced the seeding and schedule for the tournament with quarterfinal games opening the action on Wednesday, April 28. The state’s other three classifications play their regional co-championship games this week to narrow their fields down to the state tournament participants.

CLASS AAA SEEDS

  1. Fairmont Senior (15-0)
  2. North Marion (13-0)
  3. Nitro (15-1)
  4. Logan (11-3)
  5. PikeView (8-4)
  6. Midland Trail (8-1)
  7. Hampshire (11-4)
  8. Lewis County (8-9)

SCHEDULE

Quarterfinals

  • No. 3 Nitro vs. No. 6 Midland Trail, Wednesday 9:30 a.m.
  • No. 2 North Marion vs. No. 7 Hampshire, Wednesday 1 p.m.
  • No. 1 Fairmont Senior vs. No. 8 Lewis County, Wednesday, 5:30 p.m.
  • No. 4 Logan vs. No. 5 PikeView, Wednesday, 9 p.m.

Semifinals

  • Nitro/Midland Trail vs North Marion/Hampshire, Friday 11:15 a.m.
  • Fairmont Senior/Lewis County vs. Logan/PikeView, Friday 7:15 p.m.

Championship

  • Semifinal winners, Saturday 5:30 p.m.
