Altuner is a consensus three-star, having received the rating by all four major outlets – ESPN, Rivals, 247Sports and On3. He’s rated similar on all four, falling between the No. 12 (ESPN) and No. 26 (On3) recruit in Maryland.
His 247Sports Composite ranking, which is a formula used to determine an industry average, has him as the No. 861 recruit, No. 61 interior offensive lineman and No. 20 player in Maryland for 2024.

On3, which uses a AI to make predictions, was projecting him to land at Penn State prior to his commitment. No other outlet had a prediction for him.

Altuner took his official visit to West Virginia back on June 2 for the first official of four planned. He also took an official visit to Virginia on June 9 and has official visits currently planned for Boston College (June 16) and NC State (June 23). It’s not clear if he will cancel his upcoming official visits after committing to West Virginia.
He chose West Virginia over offers from 19 other programs in Boston College, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Florida State, Liberty, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and Toledo.
Altuner is the fifth recruit in West Virginia’s class of 2024 which includes four-star edge rusher Obinna Onwuka, three-star wide receiver Keyshawn Robinson, three-star defensive lineman Wink James Jr. and three-star tight end Jack Sammarco.
