Former WVU F Jalen Bridges is set to return to Morgantown as his new team, Baylor, comes to play West Virginia on Wednesday. Bridges transferred from WVU to Baylor last April.

Bridges is in his third season playing in college basketball, two with West Virginia and one with Baylor. The Fairmont native played in 61 games for the Mountaineers from 2020-22, starting in 52 of those games. Bridges was apart of the 2021 NCAA Tournament team which he started the second half of the season on.

During his sophomore season, Bridges averaged 8.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in 33 games.

Following the 2021-22 season, Bridges entered his name into the transfer portal, leaving his home state for the first time. Bridges was recruited highly by Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan State and others, before committing to Baylor and staying in the Big 12.

Bridges has played 15 games with his new team, averaging 8.9 points on 48 percent shooting from the field.

Wednesday’s game will mark the first time that Bridges will face his former team since transferring from West Virginia. Both WVU and Baylor are winless in the Big 12 so far with 0-3 records. Mountaineers and Bears are set to tipoff on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
