Despite a less than stellar season for the West Virginia team, the Big 12 still felt several key players deserved recognition for quality years.

Offensive lineman Zach Frazier, defensive lineman Dante Stills and wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton were added to the All-Big 12 team. Frazier and Stills earned first team honors while Ford-Wheaton was placed on the second team.

Frazier helped lead an offensive line that improved throughout the season and produced strong rushing performances from Tony Mathis, CJ Donaldson, Justin Johnson, Jaylen Anderson and even Garrett Greene once he took over as the starting quarterback as a dual threat.

While Stills’ numbers did drop from his impressive 2021, the leader of the WVU defense still totaled 26 tackles with 13 as solo tackles and 4.5 sacks. He also broke the program’s all-time tackle for a loss record during the 2022 season.

As for Ford-Wheaton, who decided to forgo his remaining year of eligibility and declare for the NFL Draft, he caught 62 passes for 675 yards and scored seven touchdowns in his final season as a Mountaineer.

Both Stills and Ford-Wheaton accepted invites to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl to prepare for the upcoming NFL Draft.
