Gem Vs Kansas Nets WVU’s Jackson Wolf Big 12 Pitcher of the Week Award

West Virginia senior left-hander Jackson Wolf has been named the Big 12 Pitcher of the week, the conference announced Monday.

Wolf spun a gem in the Mountaineers’ Big 12 opener against Kansas on Friday. Wolf held the Jayhawks to just four hits across 7 1/3 scoreless innings while tying his career-high with eight strikeouts, getting the win.

On the season, Wolf is 2-2 with a 1.93 ERA in five starts. He has 30 strikeouts against 15 walks in 28 innings of work. Wolf should start the first game of WVU’s three-game weekend series at Oklahoma State on Thursday.
