The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has added two new coaches to its Board of Directors. WVU coach Bob Huggins and University of Missouri coach Cuonzo Martin have both accepted invitations to join, and their positions will be effective immediately.

Huggins will join fellow Big 12 coaches Jamie Dixon (TCU)and Bill Self (KU), as well as top level coaches like John Calipari (UK) and Tom Izzo (MSU).

The NABC is based in Kansas City, MO, and was founded in 1927. According to NABC.com they are responsible for contributing “ideas and programs to help preserve and enhance the positive aspects of college basketball.” The NABC is responsible for creating the original College Basketball Hall of Fame, as well working with USA Today for the weekly Top-25 Coaches Poll, and presenting the National Championship Trophy.

After the announcement, NABC Executive Director Jim Haney said, “Bob Huggins and Cuonzo Martin are two of college basketball’s most well-respected coaches and leaders. Their experience and insight will bring great value to the NABC Board of Directors as we work to serve the game.”

With Huggins 845 career wins, and 24 NCAA Tournament appearances, he should prove to be a valuable member on their Board of Directors.
