In-State Star Robby Martin Decides to Finally Become a Mountaineer
Robby Martin is finally going to become a Mountaineer, committing to WVU on Saturday. Martin picks West Virginia about a week after entering the transfer portal and a year after deciding to start his college career elsewhere.
Martin was the top-ranked offensive line recruit in West Virginia in the 2024 signing class out of Huntington High, ultimately choosing North Carolina State over joining the Mountaineers. He did not play for the Wolfpack while redshirting the 2024 season.

Martin grew up a WVU fan and was recruited hard by then-offensive line coach Matt Moore out of high school.
โThey have recruited me hard, they have also been great to me and I feel itโs a good program,โ Martin told WVSN during his initial recruitment. He also explained he wants the school he picks to feel like home and to treat him as a member of a family.
He ultimately committed to and signed with the Wolfpack after visiting both the NC State and WVU over the summer.
